ICD-10 for Obstetrics

Chapter 15 of ICD-10-CM includes new obstetrics codes.  One focus of ICD-10 CM for obstetrics versus ICD-9 is to indicate the trimester of pregnancy. Unlike ICD 9, this chapter is not divided into antepartum, delivery and post partum status.

With 2,155 new obstetrics codes, there are more codes for describing the medical complications in pregnancy, and more reason for start preparing now for Oct 1, 2014 ICD-10 deadline.
